About the Trilogy
In Sync Chrome City, Book One of the Solarpunk Transformation Trilogy, our psychic connection begins with the story of Geneva Teresa Weltraum, a heedless young woman raised by utopians and a college student at New West University. She’s just trying to pass her finals until her roommate’s collapse puts her in the orbit of a charismatic DJ, his cyberpunk friends, Psi-Aware protestors, and C.G. Burrows, a murderous refugee from the desolate ‘Way.
On Mirror Island, our alien spirit emerges as Doreena Flora Moriena, held fast by her strict employer Rock Trayntor in the confines of C-Town, suddenly finds herself transported to an earthly, unearthly island.
In The Seasteaders, we return to our Atlantean roots, as Nata Tillitat, an Iron Blood, escapes war, General Balor, and the rising Rust Sea by diving underwater.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is solarpunk?
Optimistic science fiction based on renewable energies. Let’s imagine the future we want. If we don’t want dystopian futures, what do we want? Solarpunk visions may be non-binary, feminist, and sharing. They are communities which are lush, green, and animal-friendly.
Why did you write these books?
I started writing novels because I lost a group of friends in an airplane crash and I wanted to put some of what was lost back into the world. I also love utopian fiction — imagining and inspiring positive futures
Do I need to read the Solarpunk Transformation Trilogy in order?
No. Sync Chrome City, Mirror Island, and The Seasteaders are stand alone books. They are set in the same universe focused on a near future Pacific Northwest with a common theme. In the timeline, Sync Chrome City happens first, Mirror Island later, and The Seasteaders last.
Where should I start?
Start with the book that most appeals to you. Sync Chrome City has a gritty, cyberpunk vibe. It focuses on college students with a bit of romance and psychic powers. The protagonist of Mirror Island escapes her stiff, staid sales job to visit a magical island. It’s a metaphysical beach read. The Seasteaders is set furthest in the future on the ocean and takes you to a place like Atlantis.
What is the common theme?
Transformation comes from with ourselves. A better future isn’t enabled by technology or colonizing other planets. It happens here on Earth in the places we know and love, with the beings we know and love around us. Transformation comes from something greater than ourselves or within ourselves. In each book, that change looks a little different.
What are some other solarpunk books?
Small press books, self-published works, and anthologies are really solarpunk.
